I’m supposed to do 14.3 tomorrow at my gym. However, what I thought was bad hay fever this morning is progressing into a cold.
If I am feeling better on Monday, I’ll do it at lunch time.
My only concern is back injury from the high volume of progressing considering I have just recovered from a back injury 2 weeks ago.
The Open also gives me an overwhelming feeling of anxiety, of being judged, feeling discouraged and disappointment which I absolutely hate. This is the reason why I quit CrossFit not long after the 2012 open.
Then after a year on hiatus, I missed it, decided to come back to a new smaller gym with less competition focus, new coaches (who are great and who I feel coach me through the movements thoroughly rather than expect me to be capable of doing it), made progress and then decided to give the Open another shot this year.
I hope this doesn’t discourage me from continuing something I enjoy because I love seeing that I can do things that never in my wildest dreams would think that I would be capable of doing.
